Swift Beef prepares to close case-ready plant in Riverside

JBS subsidiary Swift Beef Co. issued a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act notice to the California Employment Development Department regarding the upcoming closure of its facility in Riverside, Calif., effective Feb. 2, 2026.

Swift Beef is permanently closing the case-ready production plant located at 15555 Meridian Parkway in Riverside, which will affect 374 employees, according to the notice.

“JBS USA has announced the planned closure of its case ready production facility in Riverside, Calif., as part of a strategic initiative to optimize its value-added and case-ready business and simplify operations across its network,” said Nikki Richardson, a spokesperson for JBS. “Production for current customers will be transitioned to other JBS facilities, ensuring continuity of supply and service. The transition is underway and expected to conclude by early next year.”

JBS will aid team members through the transition, including relocation support for those interested in opportunities available at other facilities, the company said.

“Team members who do not have the opportunity or desire to relocate are eligible for a 60-day notice period, and incentives will be offered to those who remain through the completion of the transition,” Richardson added.
