Industry trade groups assume oversight of Meat Industry Hall of Fam

New management is taking over the Meat Industry Hall of Fame (MIHOF). On Aug. 31, the Meat Institute, American Association of Meat Processors (AAMP) and the American Meat Science Association (AMSA) announced their entry into a collective partnership to oversee MIHOF.

Established in 2009 and founded by industry veteran Chuck Jolley, MIHOF honors leaders and legends whose contributions have shaped the meat and poultry industry.

BNP Media acquired MIHOF in 2017 and has donated the hall of fame and its assets to the Meat Institute, AAMP and AMSA.

Together, the groups look to maintain the integrity and prestige of MIHOF, recognizing deserving inductees and creating a lasting tribute for industry leaders and generations to come.

“The Meat Industry Hall of Fame represents the very best of our industry’s history and leadership,” said Julie Anna Potts, president and chief executive officer of the Meat Institute. “We are honored to work alongside AAMP and AMSA to preserve this esteemed recognition and ensure that future generations continue to celebrate the men and women whose vision, innovation and dedication have strengthened our industry.”

Recipients of the Meat Industry Hall of Fame Award demonstrate influence that has permanently advanced the meat and poultry industry through innovation, stewardship and measurable contributions. Inductees boast careers that have transcended operational excellence to create lasting, industry-wide impact.

“On behalf of the AMSA members, we are honored to be part of this partnership and excited to help take the Meat Industry Hall of Fame to new heights of recognition, influence and impact,” said Collette Kaster, CEO of AMSA.

Chris Young, executive director of AAMP, added, “We are thankful to BNP for entrusting the future of the MIHOF to our stakeholder group, and AAMP is excited for the opportunity to work alongside the Meat institute and AMSA in ensuring the sustainable future of the Hall of Fame for both former and future inductees.”
