Elanco launches cattle respiratory vaccine

Elanco Animal Health Inc. announced the release of NUPLURA PH+5™, a new low-endotoxin vaccine developed to protect calves from several respiratory diseases. A combination of Titanium 5, the first modified live vaccine to include a Type 2 BVD and NUPLURA PH+, NUPLURA PH+5 is a low-endotoxin, gram-negative bacterial vaccine.

NUPLURA PH+5 is a Mannheimia haemolytica subunit vaccine in combination with a five-way modified live viral vaccine. With multiple active ingredients, NUPLURA PH+5 is indicated for protection against a host of diseases, including infectious bovine rhinotracheitis (IBR), bovine viral diarrhea (BVD) types 1 and 2, parainfluenza3 (PI3) and bovine respiratory syncytial virus (BRSV).

“The two important components of NUPLURA PH+5 include a recombinant leukotoxoid and outer membrane proteins,” said Dr. Brett Terhaar, Elanco Beef Technical Consultant. “That combination provides a consistently high level of leukotoxoid and outer membrane proteins to direct the immune system to those very important virulence factors while providing a low-endotoxin vaccine.”

A modified live virus vaccine, Titanium protects cattle from key respiratory and reproductive pathogens without post-vaccinal stress, as measured by body temperature, feed intake, injection-site reaction and white blood cell counts1.
