Cargill Lockout Continues: Teamsters Reject Settlement in Fort Morgan

The Fort Morgan Times is reporting members of Teamsters Local 455 voted Monday, Aug. 3, not to accept Cargill’s offer to return to work.

“We are disappointed that employees voted against the union-recommended settlement,” a Cargill spokesperson says. “We are evaluating next steps and options and remain open to considering proposals from the union that align with the economic framework previously discussed.”

The Fort Morgan Times article reports, “The offer came from negotiations between Cargill and union representatives, who met and reached a recommended settlement Tuesday, July 28. While neither side had disclosed the exact terms of the agreement, a union official told The Denver Post the deal includes more money than the company offered two months ago.”

Cargill initiated the lockout on May 20, 2026, at its Fort Morgan, Colo., beef facility following months of bargaining and an employee vote against the contract offer.
